God is good. We were blessed with a gentle, loving, generous, and very spiritual father/grandfather/great-grandfather. Jose Romeo Galvez Alonzo was born in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala in 1928 and peacefully passed away on September 14, 2024, in Los Angeles, California with his loved ones by his side. He is the last of his eleven siblings to pass, and the Galvez family is heartbroken but ready to give Don Chepe, as he was called, a dignified and lovely memorial.
Rosa Alba Galvez Robles agreed to be Don Chepe's fiancé only if he promised to move them from Guatemala to live in Hollywood, California. Love knows no bounds, so they set off to a new land to begin their family in 1967. Don Chepe was a shoe craftsman in his beloved Quetzaltenango and quickly found work as a machine operator for Olympic Plastics in Los Angeles, and Rosa Alba stayed home to raise their three sons. His beloved wife, whom he loved to dance with and attend church with at Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Los Angeles, passed away in 2004, and by God's grace, they are reunited together again.
In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted to assist in giving Don Chepe a dignified memorial. Your thoughts, prayers, and kindness are being received with tremendous gratitude and humility.
God bless you and God bless Don Chepe.
