Join Us in Supporting Bree's Brave Fight Against Cancer

We are Penny and Taylor, Bree Wood's mom and dad. We are raising funds to cover medical expenses associated with brain tumor surgery and treatment. Nine years ago, by the grace of God, we were blessed with our final child, Bree. Being in our late 30's, having a 3rd child was never in the mix. However, God had a different plan.

Although scary at the time, looking back at the uncertainty is laughable as Bree is such a carefree and joyful child. Mild-mannered, joking, and pure hearted would best describe Bree. As a typical 9 year old, most days she can be found riding her scooter while listening to music, playing with our dog, playing outside, pulling pranks on her older brother and sister, drawing, or playing video games. Bree is so smart and found school work to be easy and quickly became part of the gifted program.

In May 2024, Bree became very sick. We spent many hours at multiple doctor and specialist visits throughout the summer trying to understand why she was so tired and basically bedridden. Treatment recommendations by doctors rarely helped or masked the symptoms until a second ER visit and subsequent MRI in early September revealed a mass at the base of her brain. This was devastating news but we finally had answers. Three days later Bree had surgery to remove as much of the tumor as her body would allow and subsequently required a shunt placement. She is currently undergoing the rehabilitation process in an effort to gain strength to begin additional treatments and/or surgeries. The uncertainty is the hardest to explain to a child as they look to you for protection and answers. Thank you for your support in Bree's journey and may God bless. Isaiah 41:10
