December 17 Update
On January 7, 2025, the Palisades Fire destroyed the equestrian facilities at Will Rogers State Historic Park - the barns, riding areas, fencing, equipment, and essential infrastructure. Thanks to swift action, every horse and pony was safely evacuated, but the programs and community space built over decades have been left without a home.
What's at Stake:
For generations, the equestrian facilities have offered a place of learning, therapy, and a vital connection for children, adults, and families across our community. Many people first discovered confidence, healing, and simple joy through their experiences with the horses. Rebuilding this space means restoring those opportunities for years to come.
What We Have Done:
We have been able to achieve so much through your generous donations since the fire - ongoing care for all the displaced horses and a fantastic barn graded and installed.
But we need a helping hand - most urgently for the riding rings to be reconstructed ($75K) so the horses can come back and the programs restart.
What We Still Need - To reopen, we need support to:
• Rebuild core facilities — riding arenas, perimeter fencing, pastures
• Restore essential utilities — irrigation for the pastures, electricity, and safe access areas
• Replace lost equipment — feed storage, tools, and utility vehicles
• Support ongoing equine care - hay, shelter, and veterinary services for the displaced horses and ponies
• Begin construction on historic Jimmy's barn, ADA bathroom and office - the plans and permissions have been granted
Our current fundraising goal is an additional $125,000.
This reflects the costs to replace what was lost and to launch the initial stages of a new build.
Thank you so much from all of us and please continue to share your fundraiser link with your networks and on social media to help build our momentum again. Sharing can make just as big of an impact as donating and we appreciate your support.

Original Post from January 9:
A message from Cha Cha Jago. Our hearts are heavy as we share that Jigsaw Farms has been completely devastated by the Palisades Fire. Will Rogers Park, our home, is also destroyed. While we are endlessly grateful that all our horses and employees are safe, the farm—our home and livelihood—has been reduced to ashes.
Jigsaw Farms has always been more than just a riding school. It’s been a sanctuary where horses thrive, where children take their first ride, and where our community comes together to connect with nature and one another. Over the years, we’ve poured our hearts into building this special place with the love and generosity of those around us.
But now, that sanctuary is gone. Our barns, arenas, equipment, and cherished spaces are gone. It’s hard to put into words the pain of seeing everything we’ve built and cared for disappear so quickly. The fire has not only taken our facilities but has also left us facing immense financial challenges.
The road ahead is daunting, but we believe in the power of community and the kindness of people near and far. We are calling on our family, friends, and anyone who has shared a moment at Jigsaw Farms—or who simply believes in the resilience of small communities—to help us.
Thank you, and stay safe.
