Help Us Support Mom's Battle with Multiple Myeloma
Dear Friends and Family,
I hope this message finds you well. I am reaching out with a hopeful spirit, seeking your support during a challenging time for our family.
Recently, my beloved mother, Reverend Ida Gice Smith, was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a type of blood cancer that affects plasma cells in the bone marrow. This condition can lead to symptoms such as bone pain, fatigue, and frequent infections. The usual treatments include chemotherapy, medications to manage symptoms, and sometimes stem cell transplants.
As you may know, this diagnosis comes just 2 1/2 years after the passing of my father, who also battled blood cancer. The emotional and financial toll on our family has been immense, and now we face another daunting journey.
Currently, I am unable to work due to an injury and subsequent surgery, which adds another layer of difficulty to our situation. We are raising funds to help cover the costs associated with my mother's care, including sitters, groceries, home health care, and any necessary equipment not covered by insurance.
Your support, whether through donations, prayers, or sharing this request, would mean the world to us. We are leaning on our faith during this time and find comfort in the words of Isaiah 41:10: "Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
Thank you for considering our request and for being a part of our lives. Your kindness and generosity are deeply appreciated.
With gratitude and faith,
Alicia "Lisa" Young and family
