Join Us in Supporting Sophie’s Brave Fight

I am reaching out to any and all of you for financial help and prayers for our friend Sophie Nelson. Sophie is the 2-year-old daughter of our friends Matt and Ashley Nelson. One week ago, on 9/29/24, Sophie was taken to Children's Hospital with dizziness and coordination troubles that came on rather quickly. After tests were completed, they received the devastating news that she has a brain tumor with additional growths spotted on her spine.

She was taken for surgery on Tuesday, Oct 1st, and the surgery went very well. The neurosurgeon at Children's was able to remove almost all of the tumor except for a high-risk area. She continues to recover from the operation with ongoing difficulties and further therapies to improve her current condition. Unfortunately, it is feared that this is a type of tumor that will need further radiation and chemotherapy treatments and will require extensive ongoing therapy to have the best hope of treating this precious young girl.

Beyond the obvious fear and unknowns that Matt, Ashley, and their 3 children, as well as extended family, are experiencing, there will be many needs ahead for them. As a community of friends and family, we are reaching out to ask for any donation that you are able to share with them in this great time of need. There is no amount too small and 100% of this money will be given to Matt and Ashley to use for gas, groceries, meals, and any other needs that can help lighten the burden even a little during this incredibly stressful and heartbreaking time. We ask for your prayers for them and for Sophie as she battles this illness and to give them the strength to fight this.
