7.7 Magnitude Earthquake Victim Relief Effort

Dear Families, Friends, and Community.

On March 28th, 2025, a 7.7 magnitude shook Myanmar and left devastating lives. A state of emergency has been declared in the six most impacted regions - Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Shan and Nay Pyi Taw.

In a country with active Civil-War, Myanmar is yet faced with another disaster. The death tolls has been rising since the quake and survival rate is desperate. Current estimate as of March 31st has surpassed 10,000. Getting information out of Myanmar is difficult, which is part of the reason why the exact earthquake death toll is currently unknown.

Since a coup in 2021 it has been ruled by a military junta, they suppress the scale of every national disasters. The Junta controls all forms communication lines and Internet use is restricted.

Mobile lines in the affected areas have been patchy, but tens of thousands of people also live without electricity, making it difficult for medias to get informations.

I am working with families and friends who has families in the effected area to deliver humanitarian aids. Especially in the epicenter of 7.7 Quake, Sagaing, has no been isolated from all the international and local relief efforts due to lack of communication system.
