Direct Help Needed for Supplies after Helene
Donation protected
Please Please consider supporting this very personal effort.
I lived, worked and played in many of the hardest hit areas in NC. (There is a blip at the bottom of the page if you are so inclined to read it.) The towns and people hold a special place in my heart. The Women's shelter in Marshall helped me so much as did the communities and I have always been so grateful.
I am desperate to give them some DIRECT support and NEED your help to do it!
I am focusing this fundraising effort for my dear friends in the small towns outside of Asheville who are in dire need after Hurricane Helene. They will continue to face long term power outages, lack of clean water as well as the need for tools and equipment.
My dear friend Eris is in need of equipment. my dear friend Todd just had a baby and has a toddler as well. Their house has trees on it and they will need a generator and cash for gas.
They will continue to face long term power outages, lack of clean water as well as the need for tools and equipment.
The West Yancy Volunteer Fire Department, Burnsville and Barnardsville Fire Departments are doing amazing work to provide these friends and communities with emergency services including extraction/rescue, airdrop of food, setting up medical, food, clothing and hygiene stations. They also need our support.
This will be a long haul just trying to meet basic needs as well as the rebuilding of these communities and peoples lives.
There are plenty of large organizations getting support and donations, and also to Asheville, but these outlying areas don't always get the support they need.
Please consider giving and spreading this far and wide.
Thank you!!
PS:
GoFundMe has asked me to include a bit of personal info about myself to help approval and transparency.
My name is Paige Riley
I lived on and off in NC for several years. I worked in Hot Springs, lived in Marshall and Asheville and part of some of the smaller surrounding communities as well. Things were very "dicey" for me after my divorce and I was very supported by different communities in Asheville as well as the Marshall Women's Shelter My Sisters Place. I worked with Food Not Bombs out of Asheville. I was part of the Wild Roots community as well as some of the other Earth Skills communities. I am still grateful for the support I and my children received and still feel so heart connected to the people and communities. Anyone who knows me, knows that this most difficult time in my life is also deeply entrenched into my being.
Please consider supporting however you can, I appreciate it.
