Join Weston's Warriors: Beat Leukemia Together
Donation protected
Weston hadn't been feeling well around Christmas time, so John and DJ brought him to his pediatrician for a check-up. After some labs were done, they were sent to the Emergency Room at M Health Fairview Masonic Children's Hospital. Upon further testing, it was determined he had leukemia. He was admitted to the ICU for further monitoring and work-up. On Friday, January 3rd, Weston was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). He quickly underwent a bone marrow biopsy and central line placement to get started with chemotherapy as soon as possible. He had an echocardiogram (ultrasound of the heart) on Saturday and received his 1st chemo infusion in the afternoon.
Weston will be going through intense chemotherapy and immunotherapy for the next 10 days. He will be in the hospital for at least a month to let his immune system recover, hoping to return home for a short time before repeating the chemo cycle.
The funds raised will help Weston's family prepare their home for return and any other medical needs.
