Hello, my name is Rebecca, and I am the proud mother of a resilient, brave young man named Wyatt. Wyatt has fought unimaginable battles since the day he was born with a complex congenital heart defect: tricuspid atresia, transposition of the great arteries, and both ventricular and atrial septal defects (VSD and ASD).
Since birth, Wyatt’s life has been filled with hospital stays, surgeries, and constant monitoring. He underwent open-heart surgeries at just 3 days old, again at 6 months old, and another at 5 years old—a procedure so difficult it kept us in the hospital for six weeks.
But on April 19, 2025, Wyatt received the most incredible gift: a new heart. This transplant is our miracle and the beginning of a new chapter for Wyatt—a chapter full of hope and possibilities we once only dreamed about.
Wyatt isn’t just a warrior; he’s also an incredible artist and music lover. He has a passion for both Marvel and DC and spends countless hours perfecting his ability to draw the human body—focusing on intricate details like eyes and hands. His creativity doesn’t stop there; Wyatt also loves music and even created a “Heart Transplant” playlist for his surgery. It featured songs like “Ribs,” “Scar Tissue,” and “Unbreak My Heart,” alongside his darkly humorous picks like “Another One Bites the Dust” and “Knocking on Heaven’s Door.” The surgeons, to our delight, played it during his transplant and found it both hilarious and endearing—a true testament to Wyatt’s unique sense of humor and spirit.
While we are overjoyed with Wyatt’s progress, the journey is far from over. The recovery process for a heart transplant is long and demanding. Wyatt needs round-the-clock care, frequent doctor visits, and medications to ensure his body embraces his new heart.
As Wyatt’s primary caregiver, I am taking at least two months off from work to stay by his side, ensuring he gets the care and support he needs during this critical recovery phase. Unfortunately, this means a significant loss of income, and our family needs help to cover the bills, medical expenses, and essentials during this time.
We are humbly asking for $15,000 to help us through this transitional period. This amount will allow me to stay with Wyatt without the constant stress of mounting bills, ensuring he has my undivided attention and care.
Wyatt has already proven he’s a warrior, an artist, and a source of laughter and inspiration to everyone around him. Now we need your support to continue his fight. Any contribution, big or small, will make a tremendous difference for our family. Even if you cannot donate, sharing our story can help us reach others who might be able to help.
Thank you for taking the time to read about Wyatt’s journey and for being a part of his story. Your kindness and generosity mean the world to us.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Rebecca
