I pray this message finds you well. My name is Trish-Ann Joy Taylor and my husband is Dwayne L. Taylor. On August 16th 2015, we gave birth to our stillborn daughter, Joislen Grace. After 280 days of a perfectly healthy pregnancy, we were completely caught by surprise with this horrific news. By the grace of God, and with the support of our amazing loved ones, we are okay. Just taking it one breath at a time, and finding peace that our daughter is in even better hands than ours. Our hearts do ache, but we are choosing acceptance, thanksgiving, and channeling our energy into fuel to promote positive change. Thank you for your prayers.

Joislen is an angel who was loaned to us for the length of a pregnancy. Part of her purpose was to shatter the silence surrounding stillbirth. 1/160 births in the US result in stillbirth. These occurrences blindside many families, healthcare professionals, and loved ones alike. While we grow in education on how we can better detect some things, and hopefully, prevent some incidences; some stillbirths are not preventable, and some families are going to have to endure this seeming unbearable cross. I want their experience to be better than ours.

*update* We have been able to purchase two  cuddle cots with the donations. This acts as a portable morgue/crib, so families who have to experience this tragedy do not have to separate from their child prematurely. Some families in this country only have hours with their child. This piece of medical equipment will enable a family to spend more time with their child-- take pictures, do hand molds, do many momentos, and also give other loved ones a chance to commute to the hospital, without having to face the decomposition as quickly. This may seem spooky or weird, but when life formed inside of you and grew for 10 months, and the heart suddenly stops beating unexplainable the day before, that is still your child, even though the spirit has left them. Saying goodbye forever when you expected to be saying hello is an extremely painful thing to navigate through--almost impossible. These precious moments spent with them are critical parts of healing for families. Ultimately though, we hope hospitals will buy their own medical equipment, and equipment manufacturers will do their own advertisement. But we are doing our part to honor our girl, and thanks to all the supporters.

I am in pursuit of my nursing degree, aspiring to be a Midwife eventually. Because of close ties with the maternal and infant services, I want to be an even better asset when I join a team. I am obtaining bereavement training to help me better serve the wide scope of situations I will be faced with as a healthcare professional, and even as a mom who just helps other families on a personal level.

Every penny raised will go towards stillbirth awareness /education/ or in service to the bereaved---I'm pretty creative and it's a long journey ahead. Hoping to orchestrate awareness walks in the future. you will be updated as we jump over these hurdles together. This will be a lifetime passion of ours. We will forever be connected to the stillbirth community, and forever making strides to encourage positive change locally, nationally, and eventually, globally.

Thanks for reading. Thanks in advance for your generous donation. We love you. Please continue to pray for us; we will continue to pray for all of you
