Jon Raymond Rudd

To anybody that knew him, Jon was a gentle, caring and welcoming soul who always put others first and would offer a safe haven to anybody who needed it. Jon was a fiercely loyal, hard working man who went above and beyond to provide for his family.

Jon was a Husband to his wife Nikki, a loving Father to Nathan, Jacinta, Lochie and Hunter and a proud Grandfather of little Jessie and Maverick.

On the 27th of November of 2023, Jon was diagnosed with Metastatic Sigmoid Adenocarcinoma.

Or in simpler terms,

Bowel Cancer.

Stage Four.

Incurable.

Jon never complained. He didn't take the time for self pity, he faced whatever was ahead and hoped for more time with his family but time was not an option. It was a fierce battle that tragically ended far too soon.

Just after 3pm on Wednesday, March 27th of 2024, the world became a darker place. Jon Raymond Rudd left us.

I had visited Jon and Nikki at the hospital only two hours earlier. Rather than blaming the world or God for his illness, he only said he wished he could have lived longer to love his wife and to provide for her and their family. He pleaded that in his absence that we support them as best as we collectively could, it was the first and only time I had ever seen him shed a tear.
