Jon Walczak- Bone Marrow Transplant
Donation protected
Most of our friends and family are aware of Jon’s leukemia. Chemo treatments have gone on for almost 2 years to keep it under control and give him time. The disease takes off anyway at some point and a bone marrow transplant is the only chance at a “cure”. There are many many things involved in this transplant process. Some of which will be covered by health insurance, but many others will not be. The transplant requires 5-6 weeks in the hospital, then 60-90 days of living close to the hospital (Baltimore for us). These housing/lodging costs along with meals and everyday living things fall on us. This is in addition to the standard household bills we have for own home that continue. He will also require many medications for a long time to help his transplant. These are expensive and require copays to be made for each of them. Hospital bills are tbd, as there is no way to know if something is not covered yet. Any money raised will be used to pay for any and all of these expenses. Only one income makes it impossible to maintain the household bills, let alone all of the additional expenses. Happy to answer any questions you have about our journey, and cannot thank all of you enough for your help, thoughts, and prayers. This is a difficult journey for us and even more difficult to have to ask for help. We look forward to brighter days to come!! May God bless each of you.
