Jonah Jones Stained Glass Windows Repair
Do you want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money in aid of St David's Catholic Church in Mold which is part of the WREXHAM DIOCESAN TRUST and every donation will help.
Jonah Jones was a well-known Welsh sculptor and artist and his stained glass windows were originally installed in a church in North Wales that was demolished after the twelve windows were removed. Each window is approximately 3 meters by 1 meter and weigh 156kg. These need to be restored by experts in the University of Trinity St David's in Swansea and then supported inside the existing windows in St David's Church in Mold.
The money will be used for the restoration, framing in stainless steel and supporting the repaired windows inside the church in front of our existing windows. The project will be carried out in stages as funds permit namely (1) repair of the first 6 window sections, (2) repair of the remaining 6 window sections (3) framing the complete windows in stainless steel channel (4) installing the windows in St David’s church. The initial target was to raise £50,000 and so far we have obtained grants and donation amounting to £12,300. This means that the project work has started so please help us to continue this great work.
Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause as it means so much to us to preserve artistic and heritage items and by doing so enhance the beauty of a place of worship.
