Celebrating the life of Jonathan Candella

Jonathan Candella was tragically taken from us last Tuesday, July 19, 2022. He was loved deeply by his family, friends, and water polo teammates. Jonathan was a loving compassionate young man who was consistently there to support his friends and family. He had recently graduated from Palos Verdes Peninsula High School (PVPHS) in June of 2022 with a bright future ahead of him. Jonathan's death has profoundly impacted his family and our entire community. The circumstances of his death served as a wake-up call for the need to invest in our children's wellness and mental health. The Candella family has established this fundraiser as an opportunity for Jonathan's family and friends to honor him and improve mental health resources for our teens. We are working with Palos Verdes Peninsula High School to fund a Counseling Program designed to address mental health and wellness in Jonathan's name. A portion of the funding will also be given to the PVPHS Water Polo program for a new scoreboard dedicated to Jonathan's memory. The remaining funding will be used to help defray his burial expenses.
