My name is Anton Burnette. I am the father of Jonathan Law Burnette. He died in a car accident on 7/12/2023. He was 17. We are raising money for his funeral expenses and to assist his family through this time. Thank you for your prayers and your support for our family through this trying time.
Jonathan Law Burnette, beloved son of Anton and Grace Burnette, left this world on July 12, 2023, at the tender age of 17, in his hometown of Cleveland, Tennessee. Born on October 7, 2005, in Cleveland, Jonathan's life was cut short, leaving a void in the hearts of all who knew him.
Jonathan was a remarkable young man who touched the lives of many. At the age of 15, he answered the call to preach the Gospel and was acknowledged as an Exhorter in 2021. Jonathan's commitment to his faith was evident in his words and actions. He was a beacon of love, compassion, and kindness, always striving to make others feel included and valued.
As a lifelong homeschool student, Jonathan received his education from his devoted parents. He graduated (class of 2023) and was one of the commencement speakers at the Bradley County Home Educators graduation. He excelled in various academic pursuits, including Lincoln Douglas and Team Policy Debate, as well as Impromptu speeches. In addition to his studies, Jonathan worked as a trainer at the Chick-fil-A on Paul Huff Parkway, where he left a lasting impression on his colleagues and customers.
Jonathan's friends and loved ones remember him as the epitome of goodness. Words of admiration and fondness have poured in since his untimely passing. "Jonathan was the best of us," they say. "He always made me smile." "He had a kind heart and a sweet spirit." "He went out of his way to include others." "His love for those close to him was unwavering." "Everyone who knew him was touched by his kindness." "He was always looking for ways to help others." "His sermons were filled with love, friendship, and faith." These heartfelt sentiments reflect the impact Jonathan had on those around him.
Jonathan will be deeply missed by his parents, Anton and Grace, and his siblings, America Wagner (Jake), Donald Burnette (Brooke), Victoria Burnette, Jacob Burnette, and Sophia Burnette, all of Cleveland. He is also survived by his paternal grandmother, Oreeda Mills Burnette, and his maternal grandmother, Linda Kelleston (Dan), as well as his maternal grandfather, David A. Catron. Jonathan's memory will be cherished by his aunts, Rebekah DeMoss (William) of Ocoee, TN, and Mercy Vaught of Cleveland, TN, and his uncle, David E. Catron. Cousins, Drake DeMoss and Christopher Simpson.
Jonathan was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Donald Roy Burnette, and his paternal great-grandmother, Bonnie Adams McClure. Although he is no longer with us, Jonathan's spirit will forever be present in the hearts of those who loved him.
Jonathan Law Burnette, your light may have been extinguished too soon, but your impact on this world will never fade. We love you dearly and will hold your memory close to our hearts, forever grateful for the time we had with you. May you find eternal peace in the arms of the Lord.
