If you are reading this story, you must be family or a friend of Jonathan's. If you are new to meeting Jonathan, welcome. Before we introduce you to this great soul and loyal friend, we would like to thank everyone for all your prayers and messages of hope. Jonathan is undoubtedly loved.

Jonathan is in desperate need of a double lung transplant. He was placed in a medically induced coma, on a ventilator, and is in the fight of his life.

A week ago today, the Dr’s called his wife Rebekah to say Jonathan was declining quickly. They instructed her to gather his family and friends to say our goodbyes. By the Grace of God, Jonathan fought to survive and stabilized. Rebekah has been praying by his side, reading scriptures, and playing videos of the boys, so he can hear their voices and know he is not alone.

Everyone asked how did the happiest, most loving person get here? Jonathan is a devoted husband and father of 3 wonderful boys, ages 14, 12, and 4, who worked as an electrical foreman. He was sent to work at a job site that did not follow safety protocols where he inhaled harmful toxins and, in 2019, was diagnosed with Sarcoidosis. (Sarcoidosis is a rare chronic lung disease that eats away the inner lining of his lungs) The disease allows fungus to grow and cause other complications. The prognosis was grim.

While his quality of life has diminished, he still has his sense of humor. A couple of weeks ago, when he was temporarily woken from his coma, he asked what year it was and if his Delorean was outside with Doc. (A reference to the movie Back To The Future) Always a joke to be told, even at the most desperate times.

There are so many fun stories I could tell you about Jonathan, like how he got the nickname “Johnny Booms.” Still, we will save those stories for him to tell, but we can share that he is the most loyal person you will ever meet. So many say they would give the shirt off their backs or their last dollar. It was Jonathan that gave them his shirt and his last dollar. Always a peacemaker, unconditionally loved everyone, lived for family get-togethers, and devoted to his family and God. Now his family needs your help.

This fundraiser is to help with astronomical medical, other related expenses, travel and housing near the hospital. Keeping the family together near Jonathan, gives Rebekah quick access to Jonathan’s so she can give the Dr’s approval for all emergency procedures.

We thank you again for all your love, prayers, and support.
