Jonathan Watson Memorial Fund

Mother's Day morning of May 10th, 2020.. our lives were forever changed by tragedy. Jonathan Watson was brutally and senselessly murdered.

Nobody expects to have to endure this type of grief, and we never imagined that we would have to say goodbye to this amazing 17 year old boy. He had his whole life ahead of him! In just three short months he would have turned 18, and followed through with his plans to enlist in the Marine Corps. It was his dream for years to serve our country.

Jonathan was someone you could always depend on. Growing up he always did the right thing, and he was always the first to lend a helping hand no matter how tough a job might have been.

None of these photos or words could truly even touch the spirit and love he exude. You can't find anyone who would have something bad to say about him. He didn't know a stranger and would give anyone the shirt off his back to make sure others wouldn't have to go without. He always put others before his own wants and needs and was one of the most selfless people I’ve ever known. When you think of Jonathan, the first thing that comes to mind is his beautiful smile. He always had a smile on his face, no matter what life threw at him.

Jonathan's life was taken far too soon. All we are left with is the memories of a sweet boy who loved to fish, be with his family, and live the outdoor country life.

His hopes and dreams were stolen from him and everyone who loved him. We won't get to see him enlist, get married, or ever get the chance to be a father or have a family of his very own.

We never anticipated having to deal with planning a funeral and the costs associated with it. No one ever expects to have to say goodbye to a healthy, vibrant 17 year old. This has all been so unexpected. With everything happening right now due to these unprecedented times we've all faced as a nation, I know many might not be able to donate. If you are able, every penny is graciously appreciated. Also, if possible please share. Any money collected for Jonathan's final expenses will be handled by Jonathan's maternal Grandparents on behalf of his Mom and Dad.

The cruel coward who stole this amazing boy from us was arrested on scene and charged with murder and possession of a firearm by a felon and is being held with no bond.

Jonathan deserved so much more than this world gave him. Please help us give Jonathan a proper Homegoing celebration. We hope to be able to bury him within the coming weeks. Thank you!

Please feel free to add a memory that you may have of Jonathan, or a comment. We would love to hear any remembrance of him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
