Airway & Facial Reconstruction Bills
Donation protected
Asking for help is difficult. Knowing when to ask, and then the hardest part for me was how to ask. On March 3, 2004 I was an EMT that responded to a traffic accident and was severely injured while attempting to rescue a badly injured man. That day left me permanently disabled. After more surgeries than I can remember I was now facing one more. I have Severe Sleep Apnea; bad enough to require a Maxillomandibular Advancement (Airway Reconstruction). They cut my jaw and skull from nose down to move my teeth forward to make room for a reconstruction of the airway. On April 24, 2013 Jennifer and my wedding anniversary I had my life saving and changing surgery (#30 according to my mom). While my insurance covered a significant portion it left my wife and I with a very large bill. My recovery has been an adventure. My body rejected 1 of the 4 plates and 4 of the 30 pins holding my newly constructed face requiring additional surgery(#31). A portion of the jaw bone died requiring it to be cut out (Another surgery #32). I will be requiring at least 1 more surgery in August; Possibly 2. Jennifer and I need your help; my medical bills have grown to $29,968.00. Unexpected costs like a special diet, wound care supplies, doctors copays, medication copays, insurance shared costs, braces and the list keeps going as I continue to require additional surgery. Please donate if you are able. You can donate any amount from $1 to ... Everything helps.
