Jonathon Millar Recovery Fund
Donation protected
Jonathon Millar had a serious accident on March 12, 2023 in which he hit his head. He was quickly transported to St. Mary’s Hospital in West Palm Beach, FL, where he had successful brain surgery to stop a bleed and relieve swelling.
Jonathon is one of the kindest and most caring people in our industry. He is well-loved, he is strong and he is a fighter on his road to recovery.
The outpouring of support from the equestrian community near and far is comforting and humbling. Thank you to everyone for reaching out and keeping Jonathon and Kelly in your thoughts and prayers.
While Jonathon is in stable condition and continuing to fight the fight, the care required for Jonathon's full recovery is financially daunting. As upstanding members of the equestrian community, the Millar's have always gone out of their way to help others, and it is now in our hands to return the much-needed favor.
The M. Michael Meller Equestrian Team is calling on all members of our community and beyond to give what they can to Jonathon and Kelly's cause. This fundraiser was created by Olivia Airhart and M. Michael Meller who work closely with the Millars, on behalf of Jonathon Millar who will be the primary recipient of the funds. Jonathon's wife, Kelly Soleau-Millar is with Jonathon every step of the way and will be managing the funds to cover Jonathon's medical bills for his brain surgery, extensive hospital stays, ICU stays, specialized transportation, and the extensive rehabilitation therapy he is currently undergoing at The Shepard Center. Insurance will only cover 30 days in the Shepard Center and Jonathon will require a minimum of 60 days with the potential for more. The Shepard Center provides extremely specialized care that is second to none, but this comes at a very high cost - one that our family could not afford without assistance.
UPDATE:
Currently, Jonathon is in stable condition and has been transported to the Shepard Center in Atlanta, Georgia for intensive rehabilitation therapy. He is starting to communicate more with hand signals, facial expressions, and a few vocal phrases. He has movement on both sides of his body, slow movements but getting stronger each day.
These are the just the beginning steps in a long road to recovery ❤️ The care that Jonathon requires at the Shepard Center, the cost of transportation, as well as the hospital bills from St. Mary's in West Palm Beach are extremely specialized and even with insurance it is beyond our means. Insurance will only cover 30 days in the Shepard Center and Jonathon requires 60 days at minimum. Every donation we have received thus far no matter the number brings us more and more hope that we will be able to afford and offer Jonathon the proper care he will need to make a full recovery.
Every donation, kind word, show of support, and kindness means the world to us and gives us more hope for Jonathon.
