JoNell Baker (Quam) and Kerri Baker Family

JoNell was diagnosed with breast cancer in June of 2015. She underwent a bilateral mastectomy in August 2015, followed by chemotherapy. Things seemed to be going well until August of 2019 when it was discovered that the cancer never completely left. Stage 4 breast cancer was the diagnosis this time, because the cancer was found in more than one place in her body. Since then, JoNell (together with strong support from her family, friends, and faith) has undergone radiation and has tried various chemotherapeutic drugs to treat the cancer. Two years after her second round of radiation and treatments began brings us to today. Recent scans have shown new lesions on her liver and likely in her brain. Medical bills, not only for JoNell’s medical needs, but other general medical needs of the family, have mounted. Josiah is ready to drive independently and could be of great help if he had a vehicle, which is another expense. The “Casa de Baker” has served the family well for many years. It needs some repairs and general upkeep…more expenses. Last but not least, the Baker family is interested in making memories together. 

If you know JoNell, you know that she is selfless and has a heart for helping others. She never really sees her situation as one of need. She said that she knows that there are many others who need help, more help than they do. But she also understands that their friends and family want to help. That opening this page not only offers help for the Baker family, but it also offers a way for others to fulfill their desire to help. Though we can’t make cancer go away and we can’t take away many of the struggles the Baker family has ahead of them, we can lighten the load.
