Joni Hilger Memorial

Joni Hilger passed away at the age of 66 on Thursday, June 4th 2020 when she was tragically struck by a car doing one of her favorite things in life – walking.

Joni was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.  She was an incredible person who was caring, kind, funny, and truly one-of-a kind.  Her favorite thing in life was playing with her grandchildren and she was always so proud to tell friends and family all about them.  She also donated her time in the community helping out at the Timbers of Shorewood and the Shorewood-Troy Public Library.  Anyone that knew her will never forget her amazing stories and her infectious laugh that would truly light up a room. She instantly brought smiles and joy to everyone that she met and touched the lives of so many.  She will be missed dearly.

She is survived by her loving husband Tom, her children Steve (Laura) and Trisha (Mike), five beautiful grandchildren (Ryleigh, Blake, Kayden, Caleb, and Braxton) with a sixth on the way, and four siblings (Diane, Donna, Jeanette, and Don).


During these unique and challenging times in the world, the family is unable to schedule services in the traditional sense, but they are planning for a celebration of her life in the future.

However, many have asked how they can help support Tom and family with costs associated with planning for her arrangements and dealing with the aftermath of this tragic event.
