In Loving Memory of Joniese

On October 4, 2023, Joniese Davis-Pinkney unexpectedly passed away. She was 13 years old. Joniese was a beloved student at Lighthouse Community Public Schools since 2nd grade. Joniese was vibrant, and her loving energy filled our school hallways with so much light and joy. Joniese deeply cared about those around her, and was a leader and advocate among her peers. We are mourning the loss of Joniese alongside her parents, siblings, and family. Any support, condolences, and love you can offer the Davis-Pinkney family would be greatly appreciated at this time.

Joan Davis-Pinkney, Joniese’s mom, wanted to share these words about her beautiful daughter.

Joniese had a bright personality. She was so caring and thoughtful. Joniese loved playing sports whether it was basketball, soccer or football she was athletic. She had plans of attending LSU and knew that she would play basketball in college wearing the famous purple and gold jersey. She planned on studying business with the hopes of one day opening her own store. Just this year she started making belly beads and jewelry to sell with the hopes of paying for her college.

Love on your kids while you can, let them know that there is nothing that they can't tell you. As I mourn the loss of my daughter, I am appreciative of any support you can give us in this time of unexpected grief.

All donations will support funeral expenses for Joniese, as well as financially support the Davis-Pinkney family while they take time off from work to be together.
