Many of you have asked recently about Dad and have asked if there is anything you can do to help. I apologize for not posting earlier, but Dad's condition has changed/worsened.
Dad continues to have problems from his kidney surgery of Dec. 2, 2016. His wound has unfortunately Not healed. It has gone from 3 cm to 4.5 cm to 11.4cm in depth. They are struggling to determine what is causing this change.
He is now going 7 days a week, holidays included, for infusion with strong antibiotics daily at the hospital. He sees the wound people twice a week for treatment, and they have just put him on a wound vac last week , @$19.02 daily, or $600.00 monthly additional for their share of the insurance, on top of the former expenses, the cost of the wound care doctors, and infusion. He sees an infectious disease doctor weekly. In the middle of September. he sees his surgeon .
His medical condition has brought major financial problems/crisis for them with just the share of their cost beyond what the insurance pays. It has been phenomenal. They have plenty of food in the house. They are planning to move the end of October when their lease is up to help bring down costs. And the move will cost even more money.
In the past 9 months after the major surgery with removal of 1/3 of his kidney and two tumors, he has biopsies on his left kidney which has a large tumor on it, spent 8 hours in the emergency room at the hospital thinking that he was having a major heart attack as he felt as if someone had hit him in the chest with a baseball bat, had more scans done on his kidney for pain, at the hospital emergency room. He walks with a walker as he feels he is falling forward and has a prescription for a wheel chair but is fighting that.
Mom is the primary care giver and should have had a hip replacement back in October, so the daily grind is affecting her health as well.
Keep them in your prayers and consider giving to assist them in their daily fight to get Dad and Mom better.
