Jordan - 25th WSJ to Korea 2023
Donation protected
I am honoured to have been selected to lead a group of 36 young people to the 25th World Scout Jamboree to Korea in 2023!
World Scout Jamborees are international events organised by the Scouting Association, where young people aged between 14-17 are invited to spend 12 days on a campsite with over 40,000 other Scouts from around the world. Each Jamboree has a specially constructed programme to ensure each participant is able to learn new skills, challenge themselves, and experience different cultures from around the world. The theme of the 25th WSJ is ‘Draw your Dream’ and focuses on six aspects: Scouting for life; Smart & Scientific; Safe & Secure; Sustainability; Adventure, Culture, Tradition (ACT).
I was lucky enough to attend the 23rd WSJ to Japan back in 2015 and know first-hand the benefits this experience can have on a young person - that is exactly why I applied to lead at this Jamboree. As Unit leaders, we are responsible for organising monthly Unit meetups in the lead up to the Jamboree. We have a fantastic bunch of young people in Unit 22 and look forward to working with them to facilitate a youth-shaped programme for the next 18 months - all voluntarily organised by our leadership team!
As well as supporting the Unit, I will also be fundraising around £3500 to fund the trip - I would be very grateful for any donations to help me on this journey!
Thank you in advance!
