Help with Jordan Haynes Funeral Expenses
Friends and family:
Thank you for your support over the past week as we have searched for Jordan, who went missing early Saturday morning near Cedar Rapids, IA.
It was a very hard week, and ended with the news that we were most afraid of: we now know that Jordan died in a car crash that night. His wrecked car was discovered six days later on private property off I-380. It appears that he died on impact. The police are still investigating the circumstances around Jordan’s death.
As you can imagine, this is devastating news for Jordan’s loved ones. He was only 27 years old, and to our pride and satisfaction, had overcome significant childhood challenges to finally settle into a good job that he worked hard at, rent his own house, adopt a beautiful puppy that he named Bear, and buy his dream car.
Jordan had a smile that was a whole ray of sunlight when it came out, an adorable laugh that was more of a giggle (he was particularly good at making himself giggle), and a sly sense of humor that came out of nowhere like a lightning bolt. His coworkers will tell you that he was a bright light and a sweet and supportive presence in the workplace. He loved the Lakers, and could grill a mean steak, and regularly out-fished his Godfather, and was a lucky Spades partner. To know Jordan was to love him.
We are raising money now to help his mother, Jackie, bury her son. Jackie is recently retired, so any contribution will help, as there will be significant costs associated with the funeral and transitioning into this new reality.
We are so grateful for your prayers, hope, and support over the past week. Please continue to hold Jordan, his family, and the ones who love him in your hearts. We know Jordan impacted lots of people in different ways, so if you have any stories or memories you’d like to share, we welcome them in the comments below.
