Jordan Snook- Keep a fighter fighting

Hi, My Name is Radomir; I am fundraising for my close work colleague.

Right now Jordan and his fiancé should be celebrating their recent engagement and should be excitedly planning their futures together surrounded by family and friends but unfortunately the couple have been dealt a bad hand and have had two years of hell that you would not wish upon any person!

Jordan’s partner Maddie was diagnosed with Osteosarcome, a rare and aggressive form of bone cancer that grew in her upper arm. After going through chemotherapy and radiation therapy Maddie was given the all clear early 2022. Jordan was there to support and help Maddie during this time whilst still working fulltime. After enduring repeated bouts of chemotherapy and radiotherapy that left Maddie unwell, without hair and requiring corrective surgery to rebuild her arm, she was finally advised the cancer was in remission.

During the treatment the couple’s commitment to each other was further galvanized and Jordan proposed to Maddie, who fortunately said yes, and the couple commenced preparing for their lives together.

After recently feeling strange sensations in her legs that left her unable to walk Maddie underwent a CT scan that revealed the couples worse fears. Maddie was advised the cancer had returned but this time it had attached itself to her spine. After being rushed in for 11.5hr emergency surgery, the long and unpleasant road to recovery is about to start again with more intense treatment, including chemotherapy, to beat this insidious illness.

Coincidentally approximately three weeks ago, Jordan was enjoying his love of the ocean when he fell off his surfboard and it hit him in the back of his neck. Jordan, being the amazing and supportive partner that he is, was focused on Maddie and her health and put his own pain on the back burner.After Maddie was admitted to hospital, Jordan’s neck pain hadn’t subsided so he had an MRI and it was discovered that he has two fractured vertebrae and ligament damage to his neck. This resulted in him being immediately hospitalised and subsequently required to be in a constrictive neck brace for 8-12 weeks. This also means he is unable to work, drive or assist with caring for Maddie.

Jordan exhausted the majority of his work leave entitlements during the previous care and assistance provided to Maddie and is now faced with the prospect of little to no income whilst still continuing with general life commitments including a mortgage and expenses.

The aim of this fundraiser is to help raise $15,000 to help Jordan cover his mortgage and other expenses. The financial assistance will help Jordan and Maddie and allow them to focus on their recoveries without the added financial stress of no income.
