Jordan Stringer Medical Procedure

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Jordan and I am 22 years of age and need to raise a primary target of £6,000 for a medical procedure to take place.

Sadly, the procedure I require does not take place within the NHS, this must be performed by a specialist consultant. All the specialist consultants that perform this type of procedure are private based. This is because as I have been told the NHS have only certain knowledge and resources as it is quite a complex case.

My family and I have done a lot of research and have located a former NHS specialist who I was under for a short time within the NHS, however he is now a private consultant/surgeon who specialises in the type of surgery required and after tracking him down, he kindly offered me a no fee consultation as he remembered my case.

This surgeon is based in London and has agreed to help me where he can.  However, although he can help to an extent by reducing the fee, there is still a substantial fee attached.

The money raised will go on: Additional Surgeons Fee, the procedure itself, specialist equipment, theatre costs, anaesthetics, medication, travelling and after care.

The procedure is called Denervation of the spermatic cord and either one of two required surgeries will be performed. I have had a successful Nerve Block trial but the nerve block can only offer short term pain relief, meaning denervation is the only long term solution.

I have been in Chronic Pain now since the age of 11, with male ailments and have battled with the NHS to get the correct treatment and even the correct knowledge. In December 2018 despite making a full recovery I was diagnosed with Testicular Cancer in my right side which required the tumour and the right testicle to be removed.

Following the operation I had a few months relief from the pain however the pain returned but this time in the left side, gradually becoming worse as time has gone on. Out of desperation, after regular visits to the GP, Urology specialists, my Oncologist, and other medical professionals I eventually visited, on more than one occasion A&E and I have got nowhere at all, sending me back home in the same pain I was when I turned up.

This Chronic persistent pain is affecting my quality of life, the procedure that needs to happen is Denervation, this will involve either cutting the Nerve Supply that goes into my left testicle,  so pain signals do not get sent  or alternatively removing the Epididymis which is really inflamed and the swollen. It will be decided in theatre during the operation which course of action will be taken.

As I said this is affecting and having a huge impact on my day to day life,  I find it hard to lead a normal life, not being able to sit down in comfort whilst in pain, unable to relax and do 'normal' things a 22 year old would and should be able to do, I can’t work because of the significant poor health.  I have only recently been diagnosed with 'Severe Clinical Depression' due to the amount of pain I have endured over such a long period of time and require constant health checks also meaning I have had to let many exciting projects pass me by.  I am unable to partake in any social activities and join friends on outings and night’s out. Life is passing me by.

Since leaving school I have worked voluntarily as a Football Coach and hoped to further this in a professional capacity. Not only did I enjoy this role as a passion, but it was also an escape from my health problems. Recently however I have had to give this up as the pain and effects it has had on me has hampered my dreams.

It’s not only the coaching I miss, it’s the interaction with others and helping them to better themselves on and off the pitch, giving them a sense of belonging and seeing the enjoyment they express when they better themselves and find comradeship, aiding development with  interpersonal skills, assertiveness, building confidence, nurture each individuals belief that they are capable of working as part of a team, dealing with adversity, as in life adversity comes in many different shapes and forms. I love Football Coaching but it’s just so much more than Coaching individuals on how to play Football. I want to go back out there and enjoy  my life again to get back onto the Football Pitches and to continue helping Local Communities, by coaching kids and guiding them to the best of my ability.

I have coached and managed teams in Essex, mainly in Upminster and Chelmsford. In Upminster I coached Special Educational Needs Students at Hall Mead School and additionally I formed my own Club, Ivory United. More recently though with Chelmsford City Youth. As I say to every individual I have coached in the past and in the present, it's not always about winning on the pitch, It's also about yourself winning in life.

Please help me get my life back, any donation you could help with towards my target,  would be so gratefully appreciated, as little or as much as you can will all go towards a life-changing moment for me to be out of this chronic pain.

The sooner funds are raised, the sooner the procedure can take place, meaning the sooner I can be out of my daily pain and anguish that I have to endure

Thank you for taking the time to read my post and for your generosity, if you are able to help.

Regards

Jordan
