Jordan’s Fight Against Metastatic Cancer
Donation protected
Hey there, my name is Alyssa and I organized this in the hopes that I can help my brother, Jordan, in his fight against metastatic cancer.
Around Christmas of 2022, Jordan noticed a larger cystic bump (what he thought was one of those gnarlier pimples we can all get) on his upper lip. Unfortunately, it kept growing and in late January Jordan went into urgent care and was referred to a dermatology clinic that took samples of the cyst growing on Jordan's face. What we thought would be infectious or at worst skin cancer turned out to be a rare cancer diagnosis.
In February Jordan met with an incredible head and neck cancer surgeon who informed us that he believed this is a Salivary Gland Cancer. And on March 1st Jordan had a PET CT scan to see if cancer had spread.
Regrettably, we have received the devastating news that not only has the cancer spread but it is an extensive metastatic disease. Plainly put, his cancer has spread all over. We have found he has metastatic disease (cancer tumors) in his lungs, liver, lymph nodes, muscles including the buttock, thigh and abdominal wall muscle, and most concerning his spine and into his spinal canal.
This form of cancer is uncommon and rare and does not respond to chemotherapy. Jordan is set to get surgery to remove the tumor in his face in the next 2 weeks but until then will be meeting with many specialists to find the right treatment course.
On top of all this, Jordan lost his job at the end of November which has made this whole process harder both insurance-wise and cost-wise. We as a family are trying to help Jord as much as possible but the financial burden is insurmountable.
If you’ve ever met Jordan he is a-- live life to the fullest, full send, have fun and work hard-- kind of guy. He loves to snowboard, golf, go to the gym, hang with his family/friends, and spend time with the people he loves most. He LOVES his two dogs, Jax & Rogue, who you've probably seen hanging out his car window. His dream would one day be to own many huskies and live on a ton of land to watch them flourish.
There is still a lot we don’t know yet but what we do know is that Jordan is surrounded by an incredible support system: all of you. While we cannot take the burden of this cancer from him, alleviate the extreme daily pain he is dealing with, or go to all his appointments, we can help alleviate the day-to-day stress of managing medical bills and living expenses.
With your help, we are hoping to make this stressful situation a little easier to manage and take some of the burdens off Jordan.
