Jordon Dale "Don" Cole - Please help with his funeral costs
Donation protected
May 19 Update: Who would imagine it would cost a family $30,000 to provide their beloved son's funeral and final resting place? That's the reality Jordon's family was faced with when making his arrangements. So I am sharing this fundraiser again in hopes that additional compassionate people will donate to help Jordon's family with this unexpected expense, which will remain long after his service on May 20 and burial later. Thank you to all who have donated, and in advance to additional donors who may be able and willing to help.
Hi, my name is Carol Davis, and I am raising funds for the funeral and cremation or burial for my friend's 18-year-old son, Jordon Dale "Don" Cole. My friend is Melissa Alvarado, and she and I volunteer together getting homeless cats spayed/neutered and adopted. Jordon's death was unexpected, so there was no life insurance to help with the costs, so I offered to sponsor this GoFundMe for his family. The funds will go to Melissa. The need is urgent as his body won't be released until a funeral home is designated.
Jordon had been in some trouble in the past, had been in jail once, but had turned his life around. He was staying home, leading a quiet life at home with his family and doing well. Unfortunately, some friends came by and picked him up. A police officer stopped them as a car of that description had been stolen. The boys ran from the car, one shot at the officer, and he returned fire. Jordon was hit by that shot and died.
A parent's loss of a child is one of the worst in life, always wondering why God couldn't have taken the parent instead. And it seems especially senseless when the child was so young as Jordon's 18 years. And his family was happy he was turning his life around and having high hopes for him to make a good life for himself. Now on top of dealing with these regrets, they have to deal with the reality of the need for funding his final expenses.
Thank you for your time. I hope friends and family and caring and sympathetic others will donate to help Jordon's family in this time of needing support.
