Jordy Muyolo Spinal Surgery

An opportunity has risen where we can come together to help alleviate hardship from one of our brother’s Jordy Muyolo. Jordy was shot in the case of mistaken identity whilst in his car in May 2018.
He had been fasting during the month of Ramadan and was due to break fast as he suffered this horrific incident which led him to now paralysed from the neck down he has only having slight feeling in his right hand, The medical term for his injury is Quadriplegia.
This has been a very long and challenging road for both Jordy and his family, who have had to overcome a lot of hardship’s such physically, medically, emotionally and financially.
Despite all of the above Jordy has made some progress and continues to adjust to a new way of life despite having these life changing injuries. He remains positive and grateful. Given his physical circumstances of no movement he has used this time to try become closer to Allah.
Within the UK and on the NHS there are very limited practices and procedures available in regards to spinal procedures which would be of enormous benefit to Jordy. The aim is to fly Jordy to Thailand for a procedure called epidural stimulation. This surgery will enhance Jordy’s chances of making further recovery.
We hope with enough of your help, we can give Jordy a real chance at a better quality of life which will help to alleviate some of the hardship that’s comes from its being paralysed.

The procedure;
Epidural Stimulation involves the surgical implantation of a neuro-stimulator device. The device is placed on the posterior structures of the lumbar spinal cord where it generates electrical currents that connect nerve signals from the brain to spinal cord tissue below the injury level.
The cost of the procedure stands at £72,000 provided by https://uniqueaccess.com/ in the early stages of research and communication, we were under the impression that the procedure would cost £30,000. After extensive research and further communication with the centre which took Jordy’s current medical circumstances into consideration it became apparent the most appropriate and beneficial procedure which is of benefit to Jordy costs £72,000
