Jordy’s prosthetic leg fund
Donation protected
Earlier this year, my close friend Jordy Curwen received the dreaded news that she had cancer in her left foot. This news is unthinkable for anybody, never mind being 30 years old with a 3 year old little boy.
The tumour had grown to the extent that unfortunately the only treatment available was an amputation. On 3rd July, Jordy had a below knee amputation - thankfully the operation went to plan and her road to recovery has began with her being back at home only 2 days later!
Jordy has not let anything phase her throughout the whole process and is already working hard to build her strength back up. She will have access to a basic prosthetic leg through the NHS but Jordy’s friends and family want to support her in accessing a more advanced version privately to help her to live life as normally as possible.
I will be running the Potters ‘Arf Marathon on Sunday 29th September 2024. After completing Couch to 5k earlier this year, this will be a big step up but it’s minimal compared to the journey that Jordy is on.
This page is also used for other fundraising events:
- Family fun day at Werrington Scout Hut on Saturday 7th September organised by Amy Dunbill
- Jammies and Baffies fundraiser night organised by Jordy’s uncle, Andy Brown
Any donations or support in any way would be much appreciated! Thank you so much
