Hola familia, amigos, conocidos y todos los que nos quieran ayudar! como ya muchos saben el pasado 3 de junio 2020 a mi hermano Nanan le dio una trombosis basilar después de una cirugía de columna que se tenia que hacer, ya llevaba varios años con dolor y le tenían que reemplazar una vertebra. Desafortunadamente ocurrió el accidente cerebral un día después del procedimiento y aunque los médicos pudieron intervenir dentro de un periodo de 5 horas Nanan tuvo un daño que le afecto el lado derecho del cerebro que es el encargado de toda la parte motriz, habla y coordinación.
La evolución hasta el momento ha sido muy buena y somos muy agradecidos por lo que hemos alcanzado hasta ahora. Jorge se despertó a los tres días y poco a poco ha ido recobrando movimientos y control de su cuerpo. El puede ver y escuchar bien, se acuerda de todos nosotros, esta lucido y nos responde a todas las preguntas con señas en la mano izquierda y cabeza. Aún sigue en el hospital, (siempre acompañado por alguien de la familia) con la traqueotomia para ayudarle con la respiración, se alimenta por sonda con dieta liquida y tiene fisioterapia todas las mañanas alternadas con sesiones con la logopeda para recobrar de a pocos los movimientos del cuerpo, el habla, y la comunicación.
Los médicos dicen que debemos mantenernos optimistas, no muchas personas sobreviven a este accidente cerebral y las que lo hacen pueden jamas llegar a moverse. Nanan esta poniendo todo de su parte para la recuperación, trata de mantenerse de buen animo, tranquilo y esforzándose mucho día a día para restaurar su sistema nervioso. Al final, el tiene la motivación mas grande por dentro que son su familia y sus hijos (Santiago de 5 años y Alejandro de 3 años).
El proceso que viene es largo pero no imposible, en uno o dos meses se estima que Jorge saldrá de el hospital y tendrá que ir a una clínica de rehabilitación por aproximadamente 12 meses. Por esto debemos estar preparados para ese momento y necesitamos la ayuda de todos ustedes! Se están cotizando y evaluando diferentes opciones para la recuperación. En promedio el costo de un centro de rehabilitación es de aproximadamente €9000 mensual ya que el paciente esta interno en este lugar tiempo completo. La otra opción es llevarlo a la casa contratar personal de apoyo (2 enfermeros mínimo para moverlo) y llevarlo diariamente a sus terapias, para esta alternativa se debe adquirir todo el mobiliario correspondiente (cama de hospitalaria y silla de ruedas) y en promedio la estimación de gastos sera similar alcanzando los €100.000 en un año.
La idea es ir recolectando desde este momento colaboraciones de todos ustedes para alcanzar cubrir mensualmente los gastos de terapias y llegar a la meta que necesitamos! Tenemos mucha fe y esperanza de que Nanan volverá a estar bien muy pronto con todos nosotros.

Hello family, friends, and everyone who wants to help us!
As many of you already know, on June the 3rd, 2020, my brother Jorge Hernan Pretelt Castellar had a cerebral thrombosis after a spine surgery. This occurred one day after the procedure and, although the doctors were able to react within 5 hours, the right side of the brain suffered severe damage, not only affecting his mobility but his speech and coordination.
Doctors say we must remain optimistic as not many people survive this kind of events and for those who do, they might never recover their mobility again. Jorge is doing everything he can to get better, being positive, and working very hard on his daily therapies to rebuild his nervous system one step at the time.
He has the greatest motivation to overcome this situation which is his family and especially his 2 children: Santiago (5 years old) and Alejandro (3 years old).
We are raising funds to bear the costs that medical insurance doesn’t cover. It is estimated that in a few months Jorge will be out of the hospital as soon as he is able to breathe independently and recovers certain mobility. He is currently accompanied 24/7 by his closest family as he can not be left alone at any moment.
Approximately 12 months of therapy will be needed for him to restore mobility and speech completely. The first option is to transfer him to a full-time rehabilitation center which has an average cost of
€ 9000 per month.
The second option is to adequate his own house, buying a hospital bed and a wheelchair, and hiring two male nurses to move him and to take him daily to the therapies. In the end, the expenses of both alternatives will reach the € 100,000 in one year.
We need to be prepared and collect contributions from all of you starting from now to reach the goal and be able to cover the monthly expenses. We have a lot of faith and hope that Jorge will be with all of us very soon, 100% healthy, and completely able to retake a normal life. He is a hard-working family guy who has always been there for us, it is time for us to give him some of that back.
