Hi, my name is Jo Calvino and I am an Olympic Weightlifter who is currently looking to secure selection for my 5th Commonwealth Games for Team England in Goldcoast next year, something no other female weightlifter has achieved before.
I recently won my 21st British Senior title, and I currently hold multiple British and English records in both the 48kg & 53kg divisions. I have competed at all major championships over my career, although my aim is to win a medal at the Commonwealth Games having come so close at previous Games finishing frustratingly fourth!
To achieve this I need to attend the Commonwealth Championships in the Goldcoast on 3-10 September 2017 to secure qualification and finish within the top 6 in the Commonwealth 48kg category ranking system.
These funds will help prepare and attend these championships which are vital in achieving the performance to gain qualification for Goldcoast 2018 and continue my journey in winning a Commonwealth medal.
A breakdown of the costs are as follows;
Travel & Accommodation : £1900.00
Accreditation & administration : £200.00
Sports Science & Medicine including Nutrition : £150.00
