hello, my name is jo/josie/juice. i am a non-binary, korean artist who has just recently become disowned from their family.
i come from an abusive family. emotionally, physically, and financially. i have just recently left that situation august of 2020. however, i was still somewhat financially dependent on my family for certain things such as school, therapy, and medication. my parents have been financially abusing me for years so they can have leverage over me as a person and to have control in my life.
yesterday, on february 9th, 2021, i received a phone call from my mother telling me that either i had to kick my roommate/best friend out of my house, move back in with them, or become an independent/become disowned. i chose my roommate/best friend because she is my chosen family. i do not regret my decision, and i will not take back my words.
however, i need help.
i have been threatened to get all my things taken away (phone, laptop, money, and more) as well as drop out of school due to this incident (proof of text messages between my mother and i are on my twitter: @ikisspuppy). whilst dropping out is one of the least of my concerns, i need a phone and laptop in order to work and communicate. as a sex worker, freelance artist, and current all online student, i rely heavily on these electronics for my day to day life.
i am putting various important things such as my top surgery on hold because i am urgently in need of funds to help my everyday survival such as rent, food, replacing my things, etc.
funds will be used for what is mentioned above. if receiving a surplus, i will put aside any and all funds for my gender-affirming top surgery. though, i do not believe that will be the case due to the severity of my situation and need for any and all funds.
