Josalyn’s Journey - From the CCU back to College
Donation protected
Updated 7/24/22 - Hello, my name is Josalyn. I was originally only fundraising to pay off my student account so I can continue through my last year of college and get my Bachelors degree in Child Studies. However, I am currently in the CCU with COVID complications. I am a 22 year old college student who hopes to one day be a Child Life Specialist in the Hospital setting, to help families through the process of having a sick or dying child.
Unfortunately, I’m financially independent from my family and am unable to pay all my costs by myself. I have been working my way though college, but got sick with Covid during Christmas and lost 4 weeks of work. Due to that loss of income, I got behind on may student account and couldn’t get caught up. I recently had COVID for the second time and am currently isolated in the CCU fighting to get my oxygen levels high enough to go home.
I owe just under $3000 on my student account that and 1/3 of it needs to be paid by August 1st to avoid late fees and the possibility of not being allowed to continue school in the fall. I had saved a good balance towards this but due to missing work again for the last 2.5 weeks, I had to spend that and still have to come up with roughly $1, 000 dollars for rent/utilities, as well as another $750-1000 dollars to fix my car or I won’t have a way to get to/from work and school.
I work on and off campus to pay from my essential living costs but am not making enough money to pay extra toward my student balance, car issues, upcoming rent/utilities, and now my upcoming hospital bills as I’m uninsured. I know my story isn’t as bad as it could be so I hate asking for help and wish I could do it on my own. However, a really great person once told me: “Let others bless you so you may one day be a blessing to others.” God has been by my side and has done so much to help me, I know He has a plan and everything will work out for His good, yet I know He isn’t finished with my story.
