Help Jose Acosta and family with medical expenses.

Hi. I am Larisa Igo, and my brother-n-law, Jose Acosta, is battling multiple myeloma (since April 2018). My sister, Laura Rowley Acosta is a teacher in Cy-Fair ISD who is need of being able to stay and care for Jose as he currently is unable to stay alone while she works. I ask that you prayerfully consider a small donation to help with medical expenses, bills, and what the future holds.

Jose, is a true inspiration as he battles this relentless disease with strength, faith, and perservance. He will tell you he is a miracle and witness to the goodness of God throughout this journey. If you know Jose, you know he is not one who complains, is most accommodating, gracious, and kind-hearted.  My two nephews, Marcus (10th grade) and Mason (6th grade) are blessed with Jose as their earthly father.

I ask because I know times are beyond heavy and tough for them, anything we can do to lighten the financial burden is greatly appreciated.

8/24/2022: Jose has been admitted to MD Anderson (lost count with how many times). Jose is experiencing random loss of strength in his legs, causing him to be unable to stand, loss of upper body strength, continued low counts resulting in blood and platelet transfusions (unfortunate regular occurrence these days). Prayers for my sister Laura, nephews Marcus and Mason, my parents- Bruce and Dedra as they all navigate these stormy waters together clinging to the strength from above. Multiple MRI's today, PET scan tomorrow, and praying counts increase so that they can get a lumbar draw to tell us more. #CANCERSUCKS

Update 7/13/2022: Jose's MRI of the spine shows leptomeningeal metastases or cancer in the cerebrospinal fluid surrounding brain and spinal cord - will do spinal tap and then schedule radiation with Dr. starting tomorrow, 7/14/2022. Continued prayers for comfort, peace, and healing.

Update from Laura 6/21/22: His blood counts are starting to improve after many blood and platelet transfusions. His kidney function needs prayer that his kidney numbers will improve. Next Monday, June 27, he will have a bone marrow biopsy and PET scan to restage the cancer after the CAR-T therapy. On Tuesday, we will meet with a stem cell transplant doctor for a clinical trial transplant to fight the CMV virus and Wednesday will meet with Dr Weber for the results of his response to the procedure. Prayers for supernatural results!!!

Original Post: Prayers for my dear brother-n-law, sister, and nephews. Jose has been fighting multiple myeloma cancer for too long and is currently in for 5 days of all-day chemo due to his most recent scan. Believe for supernatural strength physically, mentally, and emotionally for Jose, Laura, Marcus, and Mason. Believe God will do only what He can do, the chemo will work, blood counts will stabilize, and he will be a walking testimony to His faithfulness!!!
