After a long battle with cancer, my grandfather took his last breath and made his way to heaven on October, 12th 2022.
It is with an enormous amount of pain that I write this on behalf of his children and grandchildren.
Jose Luis Uribe, known to most as Guero, was, is and will continue to be very dear to our family but also extremely dear to all who came in contact with him. God blessed him with an energy so beautiful and contagious that when you came in contact with him, you left feeling better. His being was impactful. He was one to nurture and build, someone who gave without expectation, he forgave without a second thought, he looked for the best in people, and most importantly left people better than he found them. That was his gift.
He loved immensely and served god with his heart.
If you knew my grandpa you knew this and so much more about how amazing this human being was.
There is so much I’d like to type about my grandpa, like how his cooking was arguably some of the best Mexican food you could ever have or how ridiculously funny and stubborn he was. And, how he was an amazing father and an even more amazing grandfather and great grandfather!
But, the truth is that I could not write enough to truly show his strength, his love and his kindness or what an honorable man he was.
It amazing how this experience can leave someone feeling a heart so heavy you could hardly breathe. But, it’s also equally as amazing how much peace comes from knowing that he gained his wings and now has eternal life. It’s painful but beautiful.
