Dear Family & Friends
You may have known my father Jose Luis , from being Your Uncle, being your friend or even seeing him outside the house watering the plants. And once you met him, you wouldn’t forget him. He was very memberable, maybe cuz his deep voice or something not sure what it was but there was something about him.
Unfortunately, I’m saddened to say, he has recently passed away. My dad has had cancer for quite some time. And after recently just loosing his Wife,(my mother) in April of this year, he was very depressed for a couple months that eventually He kept going in and out of the hospital. Sadly, the cancer had spread all over his body to the point that it made his kidneys fail and he needed to start dialysis, in addition to that, he needed to do his chemotherapy. A couple weeks later, he started getting a sharp pain in the back of his neck to the point that he couldn’t even get out of bed because the pain was too strong. At that point it was the last time he went back to the hospital. Sadly when he arrived to the hospital i got a call saying he had COVID so he was not able to see anyone and we couldn’t see him for 7-10 days. We did talk on the phone sometime too, but since he was getting medication for his sharp pain, he was sleeping more rather than be awake. After 10 days of him being isolated we were able to go see him. He was having some low pressure problems that they sent him to the ICU to get monitored more frequently. I called out of work to talk to all of his drs and they came to a conclusion of surgery. Unfortunately, that was not gonna be possible because he had Multiple Myeloma (which is bone cancer) and surgery was not an option anymore. My dad was so tired, and suffering so much that he decided to go with comfort care, and let god make the decision.
My dad went through a crazy Journey this year, as did we. Losing a wife/mother/grandma and now my father a husband/father/grandpa. As his Son, I have started a funeral fundraiser to help cover the cost of his funeral expenses. Our family was not prepared for the high cost of a funeral, and during this difficult time we are reaching out to friends and family for help. Thank you for your time!
