Jose Trevino Nurse Anesthesiology Mem Scholarship

Hi, I'm Erik Rauch, and I'm fundraising for a friend and certified registered nurse anesthestist (CRNA) colleague, Jose Trevino, who unexpectedly passed away a couple days ago from a motorcycle accident. Jose had a very special story that I'll never forget. When I first met Jose Trevino he was applying to the Nurse Anesthesiology Program at the University of South Florida (USF). As a faculty member there, I interviewed him and remember him explaining how he was the first and only college graduate in his family. He not only really wanted to be a CRNA, and told us he'd work harder than anyone else to get to that goal, but he also wanted to be an example for the rest of his family to encourage them to try and achieve the American dream. Jose successfully reached his goal of becoming a CRNA, and even went back to get his Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from USF! Unfortunately, Jose Trevino only got to work for about 5 years as a CRNA before his tragic motorcycle accident. However, the University of South Florida's Nurse Anesthesiology Program would like to honor him and his legacy by creating a scholarship in his name that would support future minorities trying to achieve a similar goal of becoming a CRNA.
