Joselin and her family find a new home
Donation protected
I met Joselin 7 years ago, she was young and pregnant and was determined to be the best mom she could be. Shortly after Joselin became family. She was blown away by the love and support she encountered at Young Life. She immediately committed to growing in community and in her faith. We have been able to throw her son Leo his first birthday party, we have been able to join Joselin in court when she was going in for custody of her son, and we have been able to watch Joselin and Leo join our home church and worship together.
Unfortunately last Sunday Joselin was getting ready to leave for church when the roof to their home caved in from all the storm damage.
A few YoungLives friends ran over to help Joselin, Leo and Joselin's elderly parents move into a hotel. The landlord wasn't willing to help Joselin's family. All they did was place another roof made out of wood over the current roof that was filled with mold, mushrooms ( see picture to believe it) and lead. The home is still damaged and unliveable. The landlord told them if they didn't like it they could leave. Leaving them with no choice but to leave.
Joselin is currently enrolled at Southwestern continuing her education and is not able to afford the high cost of rent in San Diego.
I wanted to ask the faith community and others to rally behind her and her family and help them find a place that they can afford for the next few months until she can start working in the summer.
If you believe in praying, please lift Joselin, Leo and her parents to the Lord. If you know of anyone renting a room or two or a small home please reach out to me. If you have the capacity to donate, any amount will help this family who is currently homeless.
Last Saturday Joselin was out feeding the homeless, and then on Sunday she found herself homeless.
I believe we can rally around her and her family to help them cover the next few months of rent. Thank you for your help in advance.
