This is a story about the strength of our son, brother, fiancé, uncle, cousin and friend, Joseph Caprioli. This story begins in 1996 with news of Joseph and his diagnosis of Ewing’s Sarcoma, a very rare type of cancerous tumor that grows within your bones. Devastated yet optimistic, Joseph took on many treatments including radiation, chemotherapy, and bone marrow transplantation. This was the first testament of the strength of Joseph – he won.
Again in 2002, he learned that he would have to fight again with tumors found in his pelvis and hip. With more vigorous rounds of chemotherapy and surgical removal of his hip – he won.
Due to all of all the radiation and chemotherapy as a teenager, Joseph developed Thyroid cancer in 2006. With great strength and courage, Joseph had this cancer surgically removed and became cancer free again – he won.
Today…
Today Joseph will face yet another battle to overcome, doctors have diagnosed him with cholangiocarcinoma and liver cancer. With additional testing and evaluation, doctors are determining the best treatment for him, which will likely require specialized treatment out-of-state.
How you can help…
As Joseph focuses on fighting through this next journey, we ask for prayers and financial support to get him through this without any additional stresses or worries. Any monetary support will go directly to Joseph and his fiancé, Marisa for travel expenses, monthly bills and medical expenses – this will also aide in having Marisa by his side during this critical time. We thank you in advance for all of your prayers, positivity and additional support…
God Bless.
