Joseph Enrique Martinez

My name is Mandi, and I am a friend of the family of Joseph Enrique Martinez. At the age of just 30, Joseph was tragically taken from us on November 27, 2023, in Lansing, Michigan; a victim of senseless gun violence that Lansing news has been calling “the library shooting.”

Joseph will forever be remembered as a wonderful son, amazing brother, dedicated father and a friend to so many.

His smile, which his mother describes as "beautiful", was contagious and his goofy laugh could be heard from anywhere in a room. Joseph loved spending time with all of his family members, especially his two boys.

Joseph leaves behind his two sons, Joseph Jr., age 5, and Julian, age 3 - both boys share not only their father’s smile, but also his silly, kind, caring and loving personality. His boys were his whole world and he did everything he possibly could to provide for them. Both boys are presently experiencing hardships because of the sudden loss of their father’s support.

We are hoping for your charity in the form of monetary contributions to help meet both boy’s needs, especially with the holidays fast approaching.

Joseph will be missed by his family, his mother, father, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and every person who was ever lucky enough to know him as a friend.

Visitation will be on Monday, December 18, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, Lansing Chapel, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing, MI 48912.
