Joseph Kevin Ilos

Donation protected
On March 16 2023, our beloved Joseph Kevin Ilos was welcomed back into God’s arms, where he was reunited with his father who had just passed 6 months ago (Sept 2022) and his maternal grandfather (Oct 2021). Joseph Ilos had just turned 28 this past January 17 and had much more life to live. Many people were blessed to experience Joseph’s love. In Salinas California, he was the youngest of two where he lived with his sister Charee, his mother Amy, his father Pepito, his Lolo, his Lola, and his best friend Kikay. He loved his inside jokes with his sister and was happy to see her with his brother in law Michael. He loved his mother’s cooking, often asking for her famous turkey wraps or Filipino food. He loved his father’s sense of style, knowing that style was hereditary. His visits always brought his family a smile. He enjoyed arts and crafts, singing, photography, and theater. In high school he maintained year long life friendships and made many more friends, running for prom royalty and participating in school talent shows. After receiving his high school degree he earned his associates and transferred to San Jose State where he received his bachelor's magna cum laude, and was an active member of Akbayan, a student-led Filipino organization. There Joseph continued to embrace his culture, starring in their PCN and helping others learn about a culture that he was so proud of. After graduating, Joseph moved to Los Angeles to fulfill his dreams of becoming a star. Joseph had big dreams that very few have the courage to do. Independently living his life in LA he networked his way into the Hollywood scene, finding himself on multiple television shows, starring on MTV, working for IMG one of the top modeling agencies located in Beverly Hills, and becoming a final contestant of the Misters of Filipinas America. Once Joseph set his mind to something, he did it. He was the type of person who had no fear because he knew he could do anything in the world. He was unapologetically himself, never afraid to step out of his comfort zone and make a new friend, he brought the light with him into every room he stepped into. He was one in a million, those who knew him were blessed to feel his abounding love and tight hugs. His unexpected passing will leave a deep wound in many hearts. His sister, mother, and Lola will continue to love and remember him, as their bunso, their forever baby. He held a light that could never be dimmed. We humbly ask for assistance in helping his Sister Charee and Mother Amy in preparing to lay Joseph to rest. In lieu of sending flowers, please consider donating any amount within your budget to help pay for the high cost of a funeral service, bills, and beyond.

Your donation will help us honor Joseph’s memory. Any donations are humbly accepted through GoFundMe, Zelle Amelita Ilos 8315781042, or Western Union (Amelita Mapendan Ilos).

Details of the service are to follow and will be updated here.

Update 8:30 pm 3/17: Thank you so much for everyone's love towards Joseph and his family. Your heartfelt messages and generous donations are a blessing. The family is beginning preparations which include his mother and sister traveling to collect his belongings, coordinating with the LA mortuary, and transporting Joseph home via plane to his Mother and Sister. Due to these additional costs, we hope to continue being a help to the family.
