Hi my name is Jeremy and I am one of seven children Joe left behind when he passed away on Thursday January 18th, 2024. He and us together struggled with his dementia and failing health until it finally took it's toll on him.
He was a good father to his children, even the ones that weren't biologically his and that he didn't have to be a dad too. He was a proud man and instilled that in us all. He made many friends throughout his life and I'm sure some of them were shocked when they heard about his passing.
Fortunately, we were able to have good conversations with him over the last few years about his wishes after death. Because of that, he asked not to have a service or focus on the fact that he was dying. We are keeping to most of that by not having an official service but we are planning a celebration of life so that his large number of friends and family can grieve and remember the good things that he did throughout his life.
With that said, there are many people that have come forward and offered up condolences and asked where to send flowers and donations. Considering we are not having an official service, flowers are not needed, but unfortunately there are expenses that myself and his other children are working through getting paid and if you feel strongly enough to consider helping, we would all appreciate it.
This is not something we take lightly and because of his inherited pride, it is not an easy thing for us to do. Again, to those who have asked where to send things, this is the best way we can think of for you to do so. We thank you all for your thoughts and prayers and hope that you remember him fondly. We would like to see anyone that can attend his celebration of life and hope you can come share a few laughs and memories.
