In memory of Joseph M. Cruz: donations for funeral expenses

Good afternoon friends and family.

Our son, Joseph Michael Cruz, age 37, passed away on August 3, 2024 from complications of pneumonia and sepsis.

He leaves behind a young family. Leo age 5, Zoey age 3, Nova age 1 and his dear wife and best friend Jessie (Kumerow) Cruz.

We were with him through the end. I have never seen someone so brave and strong to fight like he did. The sheer will power to hang tough to gather us together and be present. He wrote out his wishes and comforted us. 

 He had a wonderful life but didn’t always see it. I’m so happy and proud that he became a husband and father. He never saw that on his radar. And in the end, with no more hope for recovery, he did the dad thing, he fretted and worried about his son Leo’s first day in kindergarten on August 12th. He wanted to make sure the schedules were set. And then he made the final call. 

He is at peace now. 

We are staying in Utah to help with final arrangements.

We are asking if anyone can contribute funds in lieu of flowers to assist Jessie with household and funeral expenses until she can return to work full time.

Our lives will never be the same again.
