The Joseph M. Murphy Scholarship is awarded in memory of our dear friend, Joey, who passed away suddenly at age 18, soon after graduating from Winchester High School in 1999. Joey played three varsity sports: football, basketball, lacrosse; and was a tri-captain of the 1999 State Champion Lacrosse Team. He was an honor roll student and a member of the National Honor Society.

This scholarship is awarded annually to two or more male and two or more female student-athletes graduating from Winchester High School. Applicants must have played a varsity sport, be in good academic standing and been accepted to an accredited college, junior college or school of nursing.

Donating to the scholarship fund is a great way to continue to honor Joey’s memory as well as help support graduating seniors of Winchester High School. This annual fundraiser has raised over $75,000 since 2010.
