Support the Family of Joseph Mathew (Abin), 23
Donation protected
In the heart of every challenge lies a remarkable story of courage, faith, and unyielding perseverance.
Jospeh’s life was a testament to this truth. Known affectionately as Abin at home, he was a young man whose love for life and unwavering faith in Jesus inspired all who knew him. Despite facing the adversities of cancer and personal loss, Abin remained a pillar of strength and hope for his family.
Abin's journey began in a remote village in India, where he first battled a brain tumor at just eight years old. With limited access to cancer care, he fought bravely and emerged victorious. His life took another turn when his father, who worked tirelessly in the Middle East to provide for the family, passed away unexpectedly. This loss was a pivotal moment for Abin and his family, then they moved to the United States, in 2019, a year later in pursuit of a brighter future—a dream his father had long awaited but never had the chance to fulfill.
In Houston, Texas, Abin had a desire to take care of the family. Juggling college, work, and adapting to a new country, he became the backbone of his household. His mother, Deepa, transitioned from a housewife in India to a minimum-wage job in the U.S., trying to make to make ends meet with three teenage kids and aging parents. Faith in Christ was their guiding light, helping them navigate these profound changes.
Tragedy struck again with the loss of Abin's maternal grandmother and the return of his brain tumor. But this time, they were grateful to be in the U.S., with access to world-class cancer care. Abin faced radiation and chemotherapy with a resilient spirit, always considering himself 'perfect' and eager to return to his studies.
Abin's life was a beautiful blend of discipline, independence, and unwavering faith. He managed the household, took care of his younger sisters Elizabeth (19) and Rose (16), and believed fervently in a divine purpose for his life. His conviction that he would be in remission by 2024, ready to spread God's Word, was a source of inspiration to him and his family.
However, God had a different plan for Abin. His sudden passing, though a shock, reminds us of the mysterious ways in which God’s plan unfolds. Abin's spirit and legacy continue to inspire us. In honoring his life-long commitment to caring for his family, we humbly request your support to help cover the funeral expenses and provide for his family during this challenging time. Deepa, having dedicated her time to Abin in his final weeks, was unable to work and needs our collective support now more than ever.
Your contribution is not just a donation; it is an extension of Abin's legacy, a testament to his extraordinary life, and a reflection of the compassion and solidarity that define our community. Let us come together to honor Abin's memory and support his family in their time of need.
Every act of kindness, no matter the size, makes a significant difference. We are deeply grateful for your generosity and the multitude of ways you choose to support Abin's family in this time of sorrow. Together, let's keep Abin's spirit alive and continue his mission of spreading love, hope, and faith in Christ.
