Joseph Padlick Drug Awareness Memorial Fund

Donation protected
With deepest sorrow, we share that Joseph John Padlick II, at 34 years young, a most beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend passed away after a long struggle with drug addiction on Monday, May 26, 2020.

Joseph grew up in Scottsville, NY, and is the second son of three children to Jeffrey and Kathleen Padlick. He is predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Joseph and Elizabeth Padlick and maternal great-grandparents, Robert and Katherine Green. Aside from his parents, he leaves behind his sister Kassie Padlick-Field (Khris Padlick-Field) and brother Joshua Padlick (Krista Padlick), nieces and nephews (Kylie Padlick-Field, Audrey Padlick-Field, Finnley Padlick-Field, and Lucia Padlick), maternal grandparents, Lewis and Beverly Spence, and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Joey worked at Geneva Homes, the Padlick family business in Waterloo, NY, alongside his father and brother-in-law. He was a hard worker and a great leader. Joey loved working with family, and helping to grow the business brought him great pride. He had a passion for music, played the guitar, recorded his own music, and even started his own band. Joey had an immense love for all things Rochester including the Buffalo Bills, Garbage Plates, and Genesee Cream Ale.

Joey attended Wheatland-Chili High School and Lima Christian School. He was a child of God and always the life of the party, with an infectious smile that would light up a room. Joey was the beloved uncle of all of his nieces and nephews, and helped to build them a treehouse in his sister’s backyard. Joey will be remembered as a loyal friend, a person who honored his commitments, and a man who never gave up on what he believed in.

Drug addiction does not discriminate. Joey’s family does not want others to suffer as he did, and it is their mission to begin an open and honest conversation about the struggles of addiction. In honor of Joey’s memory, the family has created a memorial fund to be directed to Wheatland Chili’s middle school to help promote drug awareness and resistance. Please consider a donation in Joey’s name to help educate our local community on the devastating effects of drug usage.

We encourage family and friends to share memories of Joey on the Cameron Funeral Home website www.scottsvillefuneralhome.com . For those wishing to pay their respects, a celebration of Joey’s life will be held at a later date.
