Joseph Plowman's Rehab

Joe and Lisa Plowman’s (both retirees from the Kent County Sheriff’s Department) 22-year-old son, Joseph Plowman, was involved in a life altering motocross accident on September 19, 2020.  Joseph was taken by aero med to the hospital and then to emergency surgery, ICU and then to Mary Free Bed rehab hospital. He suffered many injuries, the most crucial being a severe spinal injury, which has currently left him paralyzed from the waist down.

     Joseph has spent the last 7 ½ weeks battling through both pain and fear. He is making his parents and sister proud as he pushes himself every day to new levels of strength and courage.  Prayers and positivity that he will regain feeling and mobility are needed.  It is everyone’s hope that with all his efforts and some divine intervention he regains some function of his legs.  Joseph returned home on November 4, 2020 where he is adapting well to his situation and making the best of it.
