On Monday, June 17th our father was transported by ambulance to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. We were told he suffered a stroke due to a blood clot that formed in the brain stem. He was given medication that helped him regain all functions on his left side. About 3 hours later he suffered another catastrophic stroke, which paralyzed him from the neck down. He was then taken to do another CT scan to make sure there was no swelling or bleeding on his brain, and there was not but they did find that the clot was locked in and inoperable. After being in the hospital for 8 days, we decided to bring him home because that is what he would have wanted. He is now home with the care of hospice. Our goal is to make him as comfortable as he can be and give him the best quality of life that he deserves. This was very unexpected and he doesn't have life insurance, so if there is any way anyone can help defer the cost of the funeral it would be greatly appreciated. If you are able to come visit and you want to see him, you are more than welcome to.
